   About Director Of I.D.E.

Prof. N.K. Jain

        Professor Narendra Kumar Jain earned B.Pharm (1970), M.Pharm (1972) and Ph.D. (1978) from the University of Saugar, Sagar (MP). He started his career a lecturer (1973) at Indore, served as Reader at M.S. University, Baroda and joined as Professor and Head of the Department at his alma mater, the University of Saugar, Sagar in 1986. He also worked as Principal, College of Pharmacy, Nasik and College of Pharmacy, New Delhi. He has extensively traveled and delivered lectures abraod.

        Prof. Jain has supervised 35 PhD and 95 Masters' theses. He has written 13 textbooks, 30 book chapters, 220 research papers, 50 review articles and has put in 2 US patents. He has also translated M.L. Schroff's book, 'Professional Pharmacy' in Hindi on behalf of the Central Hindi Directorate, Govt. of India.

I.D.E Director`s Message

            Prof. Jain emerged as a reputed scientist and researcher in the area of pharmaceutical applications of Dendrimers; Nanotechnology; Controlled and Novel Drug Delivery. He is presently engaged in nanomedicine and pharmaceutical technology including drug delivery applications of carbon nanotubes. He has earned research awards from Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India and many others. Recently Prof. Jain has been honoured with the Best Pharmaceutical Scientist Award 2008 and the Schroff Memorial National Award 2008.

            Prof. Jain has contributed enormously to the development of Dr. H.S. Gour University, SAGAR by drafting the proposal for Central University as well as accreditation and reaccreditation by NAAC, UGC, New Delhi.

             Prof. Jain is known for his sincerity, dedication, helpful and inspiring nature and respected as a role model.
